DILAPIDATION REPORT

Dilapidation reports record the condition of a property prior to the commencement of development or construction work on an adjoining site. These works may include construction of a new dwelling, a unit development, retaining walls, walls on boundaries or any works on the boundary of a property. 

The purpose of the report is to obtain an accurate record of the current conditions of the property, to ensure any damage sustained during the neighbouring construction works can be rectified by the adjoining property owner who is undertaking the development.

A dilapidation report ensures there is no ambiguity as to the cause of any damage, should it occur during or after construction. Typical building damage may include; separated brickwork, cracked plaster, damaged driveway etc.
